I had to work on Friday, so Molly took a day trip to the High Museum of Art before we reconvened and got ready for the party.
The Lee Party is held each year at an alumni's beautiful, magazine-perfect house in Buckhead. The party is always tastefully done, and this year was no exception. You are greeted with W&L-tricked-out-golfcarts whisking guests up to the house, and a Trident flag proudly greets you as you ascend the walkway.
There is no shortage of food and drink at this party: three open bars, BBQ pork and chicken sandwiches, a shrimp and grits bar, and a raw oyster bar just to name a few. At parties like this you run the risk of never consuming a bite of food as you catch up with other alums and hit the bar a little too frequently. Luckily for me, this year I 1) Ate food and 2) Did not have to work the next day (goodbye busy season!). Score one for me.
We had a great time at the party and called it a night around 12:30, which is funny since the invitation had an end time of 10:30. You just can't end a 400-person W&L gathering that easily...
It was in everyone's best interest to sleep in on Saturday and get a late start to the day. We met some of Molly's family who lives in the area for lunch at the classic Antico Pizza. We were fortunate that the line was short and that a table opened up for us to snag. After lunch, Molly and I headed to SweetWater Brewing Company for their Saturday tasting.
It was a pleasant day outside, so the brewery was packed. Molly gets a gold star because she tried a new beer with each of her tasting tickets. I, on the other hand, stuck with my faves: the IPA, 420, and Hop Hash. If you ever come and visit Atlanta, you must swing by SweetWater!
One quick fashion note - there were no less than 15 girls walking around SweetWater wearing floppy hats. Is this a thing now? We kept seeing girls strut up to the brewery dressed to the nines. We were just glad that we made it there dressed in anything besides yoga pants and t-shirts. Oh to be young again...
We engaged in a little pre-dinner Dance Moms (haters gonna hate), and then it was off to Taqueria del Sol for dinner. FYI if you come and visit then I will be taking you here for at least one meal.
We decided to close out Molly's visit with a trip to the World of Coca-Cola! If you don't leave this museum feeling happy, then something must be wrong with you. Oh, and our welcome-guide's name was Felicia! We thoroughly enjoyed saying "Bye, Felicia!" for the rest of our visit.

Here's a little happiness for you, the reader, inspired by our trip to the World of Coca-Cola! Happy Wednesday!
