Welcome to Generals and Gingers! This blog name was first coined as the Instagram hashtag for my August 2013 wedding, and it alludes to the fact that my husband, Matt, and I both attended Washington and Lee University (Go Generals!) and that, obviously, he is a ginger!
Let's be real for a minute. I am not going to be the next Top Chef, Project Runway designer extraordinaire, DIY queen, or ultra-glamorous Parisian fashionista/jet-setter (I blame Pinterest for giving me unrealistic life expectations). However, I do love to try out new recipes, travel here and there, take on the occasional DIY project, give feedback on products/services/restaurants, etc. I'm hoping this blog will inspire me to up my fabulous, blog-worthy game, and maybe even realize that I already have fabulous, blog-worthy things to talk about. Here's to hoping...
I am ultimately writing this blog for three audiences:
1) Myself - To capture events in my life and flex my writing skills.
2) My friends and family - To give them a glimpse of what I have been up to.
3) Everyone else - To give people the 15-minute Internet stalking binge they so desperately crave. You are lying if you claim to not enjoy reading about someone that you: A) Have not spoken to in years; B) Have a mutual friend but do not actually know each other; or C) Do not know in the slightest.
